“Whenever you find yourself on the side of the majority, it is time to pause and reflect.”
– Mark Twain
I’m not sure why this quote was categorized as business, but I liked it. Being on the side of the minority, in any situation, can put you in a tough spot. No one chooses to be an outcast. On the other hand, being a part of a majority is by far the easiest way to go. You won’t get judged as often, and you have more people to back up you opinion. Therefore, when you take the easy path, you have to question whether you are there because that is what you truly believe, or because it was just easier. Don’t be afraid to take the path less traveled, you never know who you will meet along the way. If you’ve ever seen the movie Big Fish, that’s a perfect example of what I’m trying to explain. Not to mention Tim Burton did a fabulous job on it.
Anywho, if you ever find yourself siding with the majority, ask yourself if that’s really what you believe. Sometimes, it will be. But you have to be able to see it from other points of view. If you can’t see what the other side is saying, then how do you really know that your way is whats right?
